Cruise and Stay: The ultimate holiday?

Much can be said about a cruise holiday – after all, when you have the opportunity to wake up to a new destination every morning, spend your days exploring deserted beaches or bustling cities, and wining and dining your way to the next gorgeous location on the list, it can feel like you’re in paradise.

So how do you top it? There are plenty of ways to better the experience, providing you have a bottomless bank balance of course! But one particular favourite which appeals to a wider range of budgets is to book a cruise and stay holiday.

As the name suggests, cruise and stay combines both a sea-based cruise holiday with a stay on land. It’s a great way of extending a cruise holiday and means that passengers can take more time to really explore their choice of destination. It’s pretty flexible too – and in most cases is booked through a travel agent rather than online, so it can be adapted to your bespoke requirements.

You can choose the cruise itinerary of your choice – whether it’s a stint in the Mediterranean, a voyage around the Caribbean or a fascinating journey to the Fjords – and bolt on a holiday at the end. Or at the beginning if you so choose. You can spend a week in your last port of call, or you could go one better by flying on to another destination. For instance, it’s not uncommon for passengers to take a Caribbean cruise and finish it off with a few days in New York afterwards.

What’s more because the holiday can be booked to your own requirements, in most cases you can still take advantage of the various cruise deals and discounts on offer too, from fly cruise deals and last-minute savings to early bird deals on next year’s departures.

As cruise holidays go, a cruise and stay is certainly the ultimate getaway.
