Weekend Cottage Breaks at St Ives in Cornwall

Posted by admin | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 27-10-2011

With the Autumn leaves falling, the nights becoming darker and November just around the corner now is the perfect time to take a relaxing weekend or week long break away in the British countryside with your family or loved ones before the Christmas season kicks off.

Imagine sitting in front of a log fire in a cosy cottage drinking a glass of wine with the curtains drawn tight and the cold winter nights a million miles away…. But where to go, the UK has so many beautiful places to visit and stay at?

Well why not try visiting the idyllic town of St Ives in Cornwall!

Once a fishing village. St Ives is now a popular (but still quiet and unspoilt) spot with tourists and artists alike. Located North of Penzanze and west of Camborne on the Celic sea, the town is easy to reach by car and only around 4 hours from London and an hour and a bit from Newquay airport…but worlds away from the hustle and bustle of city living.

If you are wanting to experience something totally unique and relaxing then Cornwall cottages are definitely the answer. The town has lots of cottages dotted around it and in the nearby area and you can book one for a weekend or a week, whatever suits you.

The benefit of a cottage break over a hotel break is that it is completely personal and and unlike a hotel you don’t need to share it with anyone else so you can completely relax. So really all you need to do is turn up with food and drink and you have a ready made home from home with everything you need…. completely stress free and lots of fun too!

Thinks to do

When you are in St Ives make sure you visit the Sloop Inn, which can be found on the town seafront dated “circa 1312” it is one of the oldest inns in Cornwall and definitely not worth missing out on seeing.

Also make sure you visit the Tate which has a gallery in the town too and have a nosy around all the little art and gift shops in the town.

St Ives has a number of excellent seafood restaurants if you fancy eating out as well, but remember with St Ives cottages you can cook your own food as well, so you may not even want to leave the cottage.
