Why late cruise deals can benefit your wallet

The good news for those who are too unsure of their holiday dates to book early; or who happen to find themselves needing a holiday rather late in the day; is that there will often be places available at short notice on many excellent top name cruise holidays.
All that is usually required to take advantage of these offers is reasonable flexibility regarding both holiday dates and choice of destination.
More than this, if you do have the flexibility to take up offers at short notice, there is an extremely good chance that you will be charged considerably less for your cruise than the standard rate; so much so, in fact, that many canny holidaymakers, who are able to do so, will often wait until the best late cruise deals surface before booking their holiday.
Contrary to what some might believe, late cruise deals in no way compromise the quality of your cruise experience; what is being offered are the same first-class service, first-class on-board facilities, and first-rate destinations as enjoyed by those who booked the same package much earlier on.
The only difference between booking cruises with reasonable notice and grabbing late cruise deals is simply: price.
There are two main reasons why cruise companies can afford to be so generous.
Firstly, the cost to the company of adding an additional passenger late in the day is extremely marginal. The company can therefore easily afford to drop its prices for a few latecomers.
Secondly, a cruise company relies on passengers paying for extras whilst on board a ship in order to maximise its revenue; if there are any unfilled spaces left by the time a ship departs, the potential for this additional revenue is lost.
A word of warning though: late cruise deals are quickly snapped up, so make sure you get in fast.
