The holiday resort of Disneyland Paris is located 32 kilometres from Paris itself, and the 19 kilometre square complex comprises two theme parks, shops, restaurants, an entertainment district and seven Disney-owned hotels plus another six associated hotels. Opened in 1992, it receives over 15,000,000 visitors each year and is the most visited tourist site not just in France, but in the whole of Europe.
The two theme parks are ‘Disneyland Park’ which is based on Disneyland in California, and ‘Walt Disney Studios Park’ and you can buy Disneyland Paris tickets and Disney tickets online.
- Disneyland Park is made up of five magical lands where you can meet many of the Disney heroes. There are thrilling rides such as ‘Big Thunder Mountain’ and ‘Space Mountain Mission 2’ as well as lots of smaller rides including ‘It’s a small world’, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ and ‘Mad Hatters Tea Cups’. There are parades and attractions galore and so much to do and see here that you could spend days and never double up on what you’re doing.
- Walt Disney Studios Park is a magical world of cinema and TV. It’s all about the showbiz here, and there are four cinemagical studio lots each full of thrilling attractions and shows. You can explore Production courtyard, Toon Studio, Backlot and Frontlot, and it’s you never know who you’ll meet along the way as you go behind the scenes with parades and tours.
Disney Village is the entertainment district, and contains restaurants, bars, shops, and more. After the theme parks close for the night, there are venues here which are open where you can enjoy a whole range of experiences such as Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Dinner Show where you can meet Minnie, Goofy, Mickey, Buffalo Bill, Sitting Bull, Annie Oakley and the Rough Riders. The Imax cinema theatre is great for 3D experiences, and with four bars, and ten themed restaurants there are plenty of places to eat and drink too.
Other features at Disneyland Paris include Golf Disneyland with 9 and 18 hole golf courses, the Disneyland Hotel which is the most prestigious hotel on the site, Lake Disney where you’ll find Disney’s Hotel New York, Disney’s Newport Bay Club, Disney’s Sequoia Lodge, Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne and Disney’s Hotel Santa Fe. There is also a railway station between the theme parks and Disney village which serves the whole of Disneyland.
Other experiences you could enjoy include a fireworks extravaganza, Sealife Aquarium Val d’Eurpoe which has more than fifty aquariums housing exotic marine life, and the PanoraMagique Balloon which takes you on a hot air balloon up over Lake Disney.
